At Jasper First Methodist, Preschool, we believe our purpose is to provide a happy, loving, and secure environment where children can develop spiritually, socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually in a Bible-based program with a dedicated, professional staff. Our goal is to foster the children’s spiritual growth through teaching Christian concepts incorporated with the use of developmentally appropriate activities and materials.
In addition, our pre-school, children's programs and Nursery are conducted in a fully secured area in the basement of the main structure. No one is permitted into these areas without a need to be there, and is supervised by staff. We take the safety and security of our children seriously. Nursery is available during many church activities. Check the Calendar of Activities in the newsletter for availability

The EPIC 456 After School Program is open to any 4th, 5th or 6th grader, and will meet every Wednesday from 3:00 – 5:15. Those not attending the Wednesday evening activities will need to be picked up in the alley at 5:15. Maddox Intermediate School students will meet Tamara in the school cafeteria right after school and be walked to the church. Those attending our Wednesday evening program will go to dinner at 5:15 and attend EPIC Bible Study with Brandy and Stephanie until 7pm.
Our Children's Ministry includes:
Easy-to-teach lessons that provide the flexibility we need by offering many types of hands-on activities every week
Many choices for activities, so teachers can adapt the lesson to suit their strengths
Seasonal units follow the liturgical calendar
A full scope encompassing a 3-year comprehensive journey through the Bible
A customized preschool program that corresponds to what the older children are studying, so that children ages 3-10 study the same Bible lessons each week
A program for older children that covers topics tailored to their needs and questions, and directly minister to their unique life experiences.
Children meet in designated classrooms each Sunday by age group. Age groups are Toddlers (2 and 3 year olds), Pre K-K, 1st & 2nd Grade and 3rd & 4th Grade. Two Sunday school teachers teach each class on an every other Sunday rotation.

The youth program at First United Methodist Church is designed to provide a safe, spiritual, and exciting environment for our youth. Our church provides small groups, activities, and events to give youth a chance to learn, grow, strengthen their faith, and make lifelong friendships along the way! Check out our web site for more info on these exciting activities for young people!
The First United Methodist Church youth program seeks to reach all areas of our community. Through our worship, programming, trips, retreats, fun nights and Bible studies, we seek to grow in love toward God and toward each other by cultivating a community of faith and friendship that welcomes all youth, nurtures the spiritual life of everyone involved and serves God's world. We know and understand that it is very possible to have a blast while striving to be all that God calls us to be.
